This page lists the steps to know if you are using the AFP or SMB protocol to connect to department Files server on files.biola.edu. This article only applies to Macs.

Locate your department's Files server drive that is mounted to your computer.

Note: It should be on your desktop.


Right-click on the drive and select Get Info.


  • If the server information starts with smb://, then you are already using smb and no change is required.
